River Rock ORV
April 2006

Hard to beat the $50 for a weekend of riding when it includes camping with clean bath houses. Plus with the camping area centrally located, everything is only a couple minutes away so no need to pack a lunch. This was the first trip here and while I didn't think I would be back after leaving the park, after a couple months reflection, I'm looking forward to making at least another couple trips there.

There were a number of different folks from an assortment of clubs and non-clubs alike, but except for a few locals, all of the folks were ones that I already had met from previous trail rides. Most of the pics are from the first day before others arrived because my camera broke early the second day. At least it was the camera and not the jeeps!

You know it's going to be a fun day when this is the first obstacle on one of the easier trails. There are lots of places like this where a simple water diverter has been dug out on the back side.
Short wheel base and open front end makes climbs out of pits fun.
First breakage was quickly fixed. Amazing that a jeep won't start when the ignition wire comes off the starter relay. Those are the type breakages to have.
A very steep hill climb. Perfect timing on this pic as it actually caught the front wheel off the ground. That is about the steepest hill climb I want to attempt.
Okay, so it's a poser shot, but at least it's on the trails. If there is ever a chance to rub your tires, this park will definitely find it. Been riding the Scrambler for two years without any rub til this park.
Brian posing his '76 CJ5 on the smaller rock pile.
Coming out of one of the many trenches on the park with Ken and Dave following on the trail.
Ken high centered in one of the trenches on Trail 5. Even Dave and Brian couldn't rock him off.
The property owner trail rides himself and knows just where to dig those holes. Ended up pulling a safety line on this obstacle.
